Having grown up in the small coastal town of Southport, on the southeast
coast of North Carolina and spending many of her early years on Bald
Head Island, where her father was the caretaker, Patti Gail Price
developed a passion for nature. She spent her summers, many holidays
and weekends on this then, uninhabited island. Patti Gail and her family
enjoyed fishing, riding loggerhead sea turtles back into the surf, duck
hunting and endless explorations of the island’s beaches and maritime
forest. It was a childhood many could only dream of. Patti Gail loved
the outdoors, the salt air, the sense of adventure and even the salt
water consumed while swimming and playing in the Atlantic Ocean and
creeks that surround Bald Head. Through these experiences, she gained an
appreciation of nature, family and of the amazing God who created it
all.
Patti Gail, with the help and support of her husband Dwayne, has
photographed nationally including the rocky coast of Maine,
quaintness of Martha's Vineyard, North and South Carolina's mountains
and coasts, picturesque Savannah, Georgia and the rich southwest colors
of Arizona. Internationally, she has captured the magic of Florence,
Rome, Sorrento and Positano, Italy and in the fall of 2010 photographed
the peoples and land of Niamey, Niger in Africa and the lights and
architecture of Paris, France.
Experimenting with photography on and off for years, Patti Gail became
serious in 2004 when she bought her first DSLR camera. She started
reading everything she could find about photography and researched the
work of hundreds of photographers all over the planet. Patti Gail has
attended seminars of well known photographers including George
Lepp, Bob Krist, Tony Sweet and Bill Fortney and is inspired by
photographers like Patrick DiFruscia, Marc Adamus and Blaize Stewart II.
Her deep inspiration comes from the beauty around her in this natural
world. Capturing the beauty that God has blessed us with is her passion.
She stands in amazement at His handiwork every day of her life, and with
an endless learning curve, she strives to improve her artistic endeavors
daily.
From the large and small creatures that inhabit it, to the majestic
landscapes that define it, Patti Gail continues her quest to capture the
light and all that it illuminates on the planet we call home.
Patti
Gail and her husband, Dwayne, still live near their Southport, North
Carolina hometown.
